In my father’s house

When Jesus was a little boy traveling with his
Family they left him behind. They traveled a whole day without him. When they realized that he was not amongst them they panicked. They went back looking for him. They found him in. A synagogue. Surrounded by men of God teaching them the word of God. When asked he said “Didn’t you know I would be in my fathers house?”

Fast foreword to when Jesus became a man. When he entered into the church and saw people. Saying lots selling things he became enraged kicking over tables and chasing ppl with a whip. He was grieved at what he saw. They made his fathers house into a market.

Even jesus found corruption and greed within the church and he was greatly vexed by it.
That being said find a church that doesn’t have those things because they are out there. Don’t let that be the reason why you don’t have a relationship with God. Don’t forsake the assembly. Pray for the right church home for he will give it to you.

Jesus did the majority of his life’s work and ministry from outside the confines of the church …. Jesus constantly brought to light the dysfunction amongst the Pharisees and sadducees. Men of God were constantly at his rebuke. Even with all that being said we let backwards church members and greedy corrupt churches chase us away from having a relationship with God but he didn’t let that stop his work. If you are to be a true follower of him take up his cross. Being a Christian happens outside of the church. It’s in our everyday actions and interactions. As difficult as it may be. You are an ambassador for Christ so even though there are jusgenebtsl Pharisees and Sadducees all around you and folk that are turning his house into a marketplace. Those people will face consequences all in their own. You remember to Be vigiliaint and spread the gospel. Be a fisher of men.

The name above all names

It seems more and more people try to discredit Jesus and remove him completely from their lives. But Satan they acknowledge. I even have heard of agnostics and non believers referring to demonic activity as

“luciferian energy.” Somehow People still know that evil spirits exist. They burn sage, practice seances, put water in the corners of their houses, lay salt at their doors, and all kinds of other methods all in hopes that they can take authority over these entities . They don’t deny the devil is real  and even can recognize him at work. There is nothing new under the sun, people have been doing this since the days of Paul with the Jews and Greeks in Ephesus.

Acts chapter 19

13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. 17 When this became known to the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, they were all seized with fear, and the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor. 18 Many of those who believed now came and openly confessed what they had done. 19 A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas. 20 In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power.

There is only one name that makes demons flee and shudder . There is one name under which you can take authority over Satan. There is one name that is above every other name and that name is Jesus.  His name is a strong tower. Run to it in times of trouble. To God be the glory!

Why We need to Pray

Some of you may ask “If God knows what we want or need why we should have to ask for it?” Prayer is a way to reach out to your heavenly father not only asking for things, but thanking him for what he has done for you. Prayer is about aligning the things that you desire with his perfect will and learning how to submit to what he has for you. As the saying goes; prayer changes ME.

Matthew chapter 7:7

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6

Prayer is cleansing; prayer is therapeutic, prayer reduces anxiety. Prayer gives you strength. Prayer has multiple benefits wrapped up in one as you pray the Holy Spirit leads you.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the privilege to carry everything to you in prayer.  You are awesome! There is no one like you. Wonderful counselor, please let your Holy Spirit flow through me and teach me what I should pray for. Help me to develop my prayer life so that I can stand in petition and intercede on behalf of myself and my loved ones. Help me to release each and every situation into your more than capable hands and not try to control situations on my own.

In Jesus name, amen

Remember the weapons of warfare are not carnal. Prayer is a very important weapon that you use in spiritual warfare. God hears the prayers of an earnest person and he will deliver. The more time you spend in his presence the more his glory can be revealed in your life. I charge you to take 5 minutes out of your day to dedicate to prayer. In the still of the morning, before you start your day just talk to him and spend time with him. Give everything over to Him and watch how it changes your life.

Somebody ought to give HIM all the Thanks!

A message for the sinners

Who told you that you had to be perfect in order to be a Christian? The reason why I ask this is because more and more I come across individuals that say “I would do this but I know that I’m not living the way that I’m supposed to.” and I for one was one of them I was even told by a friend that I might as well not try to rededicate my life to God because I was living in sin.

This message is not for those pious, perfect saints who never sin and live devout lives. This message is for the addicts, the sinners, the liars, the schemers, the drunkards and the whores.

God loves you so much and he can use you too! Noah was a drunk, David was an adulterer Mary Magdalene was a Prostitute. God put them to use! Paul used to kill Christians! He was a murderer and found God and ended up being the most influential convert and servant of Jesus and was responsible for writing 13 of the 27 books in the New Testament.

Don’t let anyone whether they are Christian or atheist tell you that you can’t serve and love God.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. 10That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.…

You don’t go to the emergency room when you are in perfect health; do you?

You go when you are at the brink of death.   “No temptation[a] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[b] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, [c] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1st Corinthians 10:13

Stop watching people! Stop caring what they think, what the church members thinks, what your friends and family thinks. Stop putting your faith in man! You will always be disappointed. Build your relationship with God because that’s what he desires more than anything is for you to seek him.

…12What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? 13And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices more over that one sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14In the same way, your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.…Matthew 18:12

Don’t let fear and shame stop you from going to your father and carrying everything to him. Just talk to him, rest assured you will feel his presence in your life if you just try to reach out to him. God will meet you just where you are, you take one step to him and he will take 99 steps to you.

There is a big difference between a person that is trying to do right and a Luke warm Christian.  A lukewarm Christian is someone who is happily practicing sin and has no desire to change but if you know you are doing some things that you should not be doing, ask for forgiveness ask for strength, and try. He never once said he wants you to be perfect but is word says “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7

Say this prayer with me

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your grace and mercy.  You are worthy of all the glory, honor, and praise.  I know it may have been a while since I have spoken to you, but I come to you today because I feel tempted by ___________. I ask you to forgive me and help me to resist temptation. Please order my steps and reveal the purpose you have for me. Help me to serve you. Let your presence be known in my life. In Jesus name Amen

And it is so!

-Somebody ought to tell the lord thank you!!!!!!

What is Gods Grace?

What is God’s Grace? Grace is when you get more than you deserve. Grace is God’s favor. According to Merriam-Webster the definition of grace is “the unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification”. Sanctification means to be made holy. Regeneration means to be made new.

It’s by God’s grace that we are saved. It’s a free gift, our works does not win it, and it’s available to all people. Ephesians 2:8-9 states, “for by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” It’s also stated in Romans 3:24 that “all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus”. In just our simple belief in Christ God makes us whole. He saves, redeems, forgives, heals, delivers, protects and restores us. His Spirit gives us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness and self-control. This is God’s Grace.

In God’s holy word, the Bible, He gives us standards on how we should live our lives. He’s holy and he wants His children to be holy. These standards are set in place for our benefit; for our protection. How on earth are we suppose to live up to these standards? When a person confesses Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and believes that He died for our sins, the Holy Spirit comes and dwells on the inside of that person. God’s seal is now on that person. That person now has the help of the Holy Spirit in trying to live up to God’s standards. This is God’s Grace. He knows that we’re human and we live in a sinful world. Instead of condemning us, He decides to help us. It’s God’s grace that He gives us when we fail to hit the mark. Through the blood of Jesus, we can openly come to the Father to ask for forgiveness.

Grace is when God gives you the power to do something that you wouldn’t be able to normally do on your own. Hebrews 4:16 states “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need”.

Along with assistance in walking in God’s standards, He also helps when a challenge comes our way. (In a sense, it may be a challenge walking in God’s standards.) For example, if you’re transitioning your life, struggling with paying your bills or even just experienced death of a close loved one, God gives you his grace to get through it. He’s consistently regenerating you in the process; making you new.

In our human mind, it’s hard to comprehend this. The average human being finds it hard to give grace to another. How great is the God we serve that He does this for us? Let’s pray that God helps us to show grace to others.

Count it all joy

Jesus said “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11

As Christians we have to always be cautious when we address criticism and critique from non- believers.  I know first-hand how easy it is to become defensive and hurt when you hear and see others challenge and insult your belief system.  If you truly believe what the word says there is no reason to feel discouraged.

When Peter and his disciples entered Jerusalem to evangelize after the persecution of Jesus they were not only insulted but thrown and jail and flogged. Not only did they receive verbal insults but they suffered physical torture all because they believed in Jesus Christ as our lord and savior. Instead of reacting to this persecution they did something very different than what was expected. “Then the apostles left Sanhedrin REJOICING because they had had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the name” Acts we get upset when people partake in cyber bullying and sarcasm.

When I read that verse I stopped dead in my tracks and asked God that I always think of any persecution that befalls me in that way. People that have the most to say about Christians are oftentimes confused or curious about our belief system. This is the reason why apologetics is so important because your reaction may be the difference between winning another person over for Christ or encouraging and enforcing stereotypes or otherwise taking part in arguments that are not only counterproductive but a misrepresentation of Christ and exactly the opposite of what you are supposed to do.

Christian persecution is not something that happened a long time ago and is no longer going on; Currently in 2016 there are Christians in North Korea, Iraq, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan and all over the world that are being beaten and killed all because they believe in Christ as our lord and savior.  I could only imagine if I had half the courage and strength that these people have. To praise and worship and serve God to the very death. To worship and revere him no matter the consequences.

I charge you men and women of God to never get into another argument about your faith no matter if you are on social media or with the people in your own household. I challenge you to submerge yourself in your belief, to seek the truth in all things and to find the answer to questions that may be asked of you so that you follow your word. Its written “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1st Peter 3:15 now go be fishers of men!

Somebody ought to give him thanks.

Testing the Spirits; Avoiding the Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing

Testing the Spirits

Have you ever heard a word from God or received a prophetic word from an individual and it Not come to pass? you are left discouraged, upset, and lost in a pit of confusion.

I have been there before and I am here to ask you; are you sure that word was from God?

This is a very important lesson so pay attention. Every voice you hear even if it may seem like it’s from God may not be form God; sometimes it is the Father of all lies sent to confuse and discourage you.

For this reason we are to test the spirits. You may be asking yourself “what does that mean?”

1John 4:1

“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,

because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

The reason for the admonition to “test the spirits” or “test all things” is that there are

“Many false prophets” or “wolves in sheep’s clothing” that try to lead Christians astray. Sadly,

there are many people who claim to speak for God who are presenting a false gospel that is powerless to save.

Jesus warned in Mt.7:15-16, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

You will know them by their fruits…”

You must pray for spiritual discernment before accepting any indoctrination. Another way to test the spirits is to get into scripture for confirmation. God will not tell you to do something that dos not align with his word. This is imperative. Get a bible that you can understand. People will discredit the Christian Faith by stating the fact that the bible has many translations, well this is true and I’ll be the first to say thank the heavens that they do!

For they all deliver the same message and share the same fundamental beliefs the language may be different but the scriptures say essentially the same thing. You wont be able to find scriptures that contradict one another from one translation to the next.  The fact remains that people learn in different capacities and therefore need different methods of which to get their message. I personally relate better to the New International Version. I can understand what is being said and I can apply it to my life in a better way. After all, we all don’t learn the same exact fashion do we?

Every voice that you hear in your head is not always God so you have to be able to discern what is God, what is your inner voice, and what is coming from the author of confusion, Satan. In the bible, the devil disguised himself as an angel of light. This is how some false prophets are able to operate. I for one have been deceived by this voice before. Now that I know how to test the spirits this will never happen to me again.

There are ways that you can discern what voice you are hearing.

If it is God what he is saying will be confirmed. God does not want you to be confused he has sent us the spirit of a sound mind therefore he will send confirmation after confirmation either through people to confirm what he is trying to tell you.

Another way that you will know if it is the father is by speaking to him on a daily basis. The more you develop a relationship with the father, the better your ability to recognize his voice. When your mother, your sister or your best friend calls your phone, no matter if they call from a new or private number, immediately you recognize the tone and inflections of their voice and can identify them. The same goes for our heavenly father. Though his voice may not even be an audible one, I have heard some describe it as a whisper, for me it’s more like an impression of the word followed by the vision of the actual word in my head if that makes sense. The point is I know his voice.

Recently I asked a friend how does she test the spirits and she had an awesome response. Whenever she hears a word from God, she immediately asks that voice in her head “Did Jesus Christ Come in the flesh?” If the answer is “Yes” then she knows that it is God.

I now use that as a way to Test the spirits in a way.  I know that the devils biggest attack on our life is to make us believe that Christ does not exist and wants to discredit him at every chance he gets therefore he will not give credit where credit is due.

Most importantly God sends us a helper, the Holy Spirit to confirm things. When I am speaking a word from God or hearing a word from God I will feel the presence of the Holy Spirit all over me.  You may ask “What is the Holy Spirit?” Again to different people it can be different things, for me its goosebumps all over my body or tears of joy, sometimes its uncontrollable urge to shout out to God, or trembling and the energy to run across the room or dance.  In all things honor and acknowledge him and he will counsel you.

Somebody ought to give him thanks

Overcoming a Spiritual Attack

We all have had those days, where it’s one thing after another. Murphy’s Law is everything that can go wrong will, right?

You just may be under a spiritual attack. The weapons of warfare are not carnal. “We do not battle against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.” Ephesians 6:12. Here are some things you can do while you are under attack;

“Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil”

Read Gods word! Sometimes the answer that you need may be somewhere in scripture and often times he will lead you to the specific scripture that you need.

The book of Ephesians speaks many times on how to cover yourself from daily spiritual attack.

Stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, the breast plate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that come from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this take up the SHIELD OF FAITH with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one and take on the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of
God.” Ephesians 6:10-17

Repent, sometimes you need to ask God to reveal to you any behavior past or present that would allow an open door to an attack. Sometimes a fast and consecration is in order just make sure that you only tell who it’s absolutely necessary to tell (fast in secret) so that you don’t receive your reward in full. What that means is that announcing that you are fasting can be a source of bragging or boasting. When you do that the whole purpose of the fast is taken away because God wants you to be humble.

One of my favorite defenses against a spiritual attack is complete and total praise. I cannot emphasize this to you enough; praise will bind, confuse and break the enemy. Your deliverance and healing is in your praise. When you praise God, you are focusing on him and letting it be known that you are not worried about a specific circumstance. You know that our heavenly father will get his glory out of it.

Many times we worry and stress ourselves out over things that God is already handling in the background. Jesus said “do not be anxious for tomorrow because tomorrow has enough anxiety on its own and by worrying are you able to allow one extra minute to your life?” God does not want you to doubt. You can find scriptures similar to  be not afraid 365 times in the bible. That’s a clear indication that he wants you to put your trust in him and operate your faith every single day.  By worrying you are allowing fear and doubt into your life and god has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind. Worrying puts limitations on an all-powerful and limitless God.

Remember that the race is not given to the swift nor the strong, but the one who endures to the end.
